Dr. Tóth Dezső, graduated the University of Medicine from Debrecen, General Medicine Section in 1997, with „summa cum laude”.
Between 1997 and 1999 he worked at the Surgery Section of the Miskolc County Hospital, and from October 1, 1999 he is working at the Surgery Section of the HBM Kenézy Gyula Hospital. Meanwhile he obtained a Healthcare Economist Diploma at József Attila University from Szeged. In 2002, he took his exams in general surgery and in 2004 in clinical oncology with excellent results.
As a surgeon-oncologist, he is a permanent member of the Onco-team at the Kenézy Breast Centrum since 2006.
Since 2007 he is manager of the Health Outpatient Center from Debrecen, and the Gyula Kenézy Hospital One-day Surgery Department. He is involved in the organization of more than 1000 operations each year, and he himself is a major participant in this type of surgery, such as the excision of breast changes, open and laparoscopic hernia surgery and hemorrhoids complaints treatment.
During his surgical work, he always showed a marked interest in oncology surgery, combining it with the use of minimal invasive techniques. Accordingly, in 2000 he participated in the European Institute of Surgery on laparoscopic colon-rectal surgery training. In 2004, he had laparoscopic colorectal training at the European Institute of Telesurgery in Strasbourg. Next year he studied laparoscopic gastro-intestinal surgery with Cristiano Hüscher in Rome, at the San Giovanni hospital.
In 2010 he attended a Surgical Seminar at the Austro-American Foundation in the Weill Cornell University from New York. In 2011 he obtained a travel scholarship at the World Congress of Surgery in Yokohama (Japan). In 2012 he studied laparoscopic gastric cancer surgery at the Seoul National University Hospital and participated in clinical trials and research there.
In 2014, as a fellow of the American Surgeon Society, he worked as a surgeon-oncologist in MD Anderson Cancer Center in San Francisco, and then in Houston, where he is involved in oncoplasmic breast cancer and laparoscopic gastro-intestinal surgery.
Meanwhile, in 2013 he took the PhD exam with „summa cum laude" at the University of Debrecen with his work "Examination of lymphatic metastases of solid tumors - marker of the guardian nodule". He has an intermediate English Language exam and basic level German Language exam. He is the first author and co-author of numerous English and Hungarian, impact factor and scientific publications. He is the author of an entire chapter in an English scientific book, about gastric cancer. During his career, he held 41 lectures (31 in Hungarian, 10 in English) and co-lecturer in 56 lectures (50 in Hungarian, 6 in English).
